15+ Best Everyday Products to Make Life Easier for Senior Women

In my older years, I have discovered that little matters can have big consequences. I prefer products that are simple, functional and easy to use. I don’t want anything that is difficult or complicated. There are so many common household products I’ve tried over the years. Some of them have simplified and improved my life on a daily basis. I like one thing is a light-weight electric kettle. It is useful for brewing tea or hot water without having to lift a heavy pot. I can keep this away from my seat.

A long-handled grabber is also very useful for me. It’s no longer simple to bend down. Uses of high shelves are also problematic. Picking things up off the floor or reaching up to light items with a grabber. It helps to alleviate pressure on my back and makes me feel more secure in my home. One other item I have found useful to always have on hand is a good pill organizer. It assists me to maintain my medicines on track. I can see the days clearly and know what I need to take. I like the one that has large letters and easy lids to open.

I enjoy using kitchen tools that I can easily grip in the kitchen. My hands sometimes feel stiff, so thick and soft handles are more comfortable. An easy-grip jar opener also is very helpful. I don’t want to ask the person for help each time and the tight lid may be difficult to open. This simplistic opener provides me with more freedom of my own kitchen. One of the smallest things in my home is a night light, but to me it’s very important. I have night lights in the hallway, bedroom and bathroom area. They assist me in seeing where I go at night.

I also enjoy having a comfortable seat cushion. When I sit for a long time my back and hips get tired. My chair is made much nicer by a soft and supportive cushion. I use it when I’m reading, watching TV or lying down during the day. You can also make bathing easier and safer with the use of a shower chair. It can get tiring to stand for a long time in the shower. Sitting allows me to be comfortable and feel stable. I really appreciate having a non slip bath mat as wet floors can cause problems.
