Grandma says that the old age is not a problem at all. This is a normal occurrence. A youthful mind is capable of being honed and made strong in old age. She shares the wisdom which is not only of age. It is life’s outcome of learning, thinking, and comprehending. She believes that we need to be aware of what is happening around us. There’s always something to learn every day. We should live our lives without paying attention to our feelings, choices and actions.
Older and Wiser
During those tough times she urges us to remain calm. Worry can cause issues to appear larger. So when the mind is at rest, thinking can take place. Grandma chides us to take our time and breathe before deciding on an important choice. However, fast can be fast and fast can be not. Grandma also instructs us to listen more. Don’t have to talk endlessly. In some cases, it’s an unspoken message that’s a more impactful education than a spoken one. Hearing with care we learn about life, people and ourselves.
She reminds us to do not be embarrassed of error. We need to take them on board, benefit from them and progress on. But, reflecting on the bad news isn’t helpful. Grandma instructs us to stand up once more, in courage and in a spirit of hope. Grandma says we should learn to please no one. No guarantees as to everyone’s happiness. It’s important that we are kind, but it is also important that we respect ourselves. There has to be a time and place for saying no. It’s important to protect our peace, particularly as we get older.

She also tells us what to do to take care of our health. A wise person knows that there is a need for the body to rest, eat healthy, move about and take care of the body. Any pain or fatigue should not be ignored. Physical health helps to maintain good mental health as well. Grandma wants us to continue to learn. Nothing can stop a man from being curious because of his old age. Being complacent is never a good idea to think that we know all. It’s never too late to learn something new.

She also encourages us to release anger. Forgiveness does not involve erasing from one’s mind all the hurts. It is to take the way of peace rather than the burden of war.Great Granny says that we don’t have to be afraid, but patient and confident as we grow older. We have knowledge of the true meaning of life. Then grandma smiles and goes away, and we are all left with the definite message that growing older is not a bad thing and that there is still joy in it.
