There are many things a grandma tells from her heart. She’s lived a lot of years. She has known good times and bad. She doesn’t talk about old age from books. She speaks from experience. She shares many of the feelings that many senior women have as they age. Grandma shares that the body changes first. She states that the hands, legs, back and knees are not strong forever. Effort once performed is now difficult. Effort once performed is now difficult. Old women are not lazy, she says. They just get weaker and weaker with the passing of time.
Growing Older Problems
She shares that the health issue becomes a huge concern in one’s older years. There are many senior women who suffer from pain in their bodies. Some people don’t see very well. Some are unable to hear well. Some require medication on a daily basis. It’s normal to visit the doctor. According to Grandma, the body is not the only thing that suffers when someone is sick. This also causes fatigue of the heart since a woman begins to rely on others. Another of Grandma’s stories has to do with the loneliness that is one of the most severe pains of old age.
Not all of the time they tell it like it is. They could experience some missing of younger years. May not be able to identify people who are missing. May have concerns of burden. Grandma says that when there’s a big girl to them the heart gets soft. She’ll be happy with a little nice word, and a big harsh word can hurt her very much. Grandma tells the story about the other problem: money. Some senior women may not have enough funds to save for their retirement.

She also shares that the loss of independence is really very painful. Senior women want to be able to do their own work. They wish to have choice in their own decisions. However, it can be hard with older age. May require assistance in shopping, preparing meals, cleaning, or outside activities. Grandma says that if they need to be helped, it does not necessarily mean that the woman is no longer valuable.

They want to be useful. They desire their family to communicate lovingly. They don’t want to be disregarded. They are emotional, remember things and are wise. Finally, grandma tells her a simple truth. No senior woman asks for too much. They require love, patience, care and respect. They need to be listened to be. Being elderly should not be synonymous with being lonely. In general, all grandma and all old woman deserves to be treated with dignity, comfort and kindness.
