Old age is not about hiding wrinkles. It is concerning the acceptance of the life with a calm heart. Wrinkles are nothing to be ashamed of. They are the signs of lots of years, lots of emotions and lots of tales. All the lines on the face reveal that an individual has lived and loved and worked and remained tough through numerous seasons of life. It is believed by many that old age is associated with loss of beauty. But age is no end of real beauty. To appear special a grandmother does not have to conceal her wrinkles. She is already beautiful, because of her love.
Hidden Joys
To a grandma, nothing can bring a greater pleasure to old age than being with her grandchild. Her heart is as young as she sits with a child. A smile on the child illuminates her dark days. The child’s small hands make her feel loved and needed. These are the moments that are more valuable than a mirror or make-up. Old age teaches an individual that being perfect is not in being happy. Finding some sort of connection brings about happiness. A grandmother does not have to walk quickly but, nonetheless, is able to laugh with her grandchild.
There might be wrinkles on her face; but happiness in her eyes. She has no need of disguising her age. She is able to indulge in it proudly. She remembers that each wrinkle was accompanied by a memory. There were memories that were painful, and others that were sweet. She is what she is today, because of them. A grandma forgets most of her worries when she has an opportunity to spend time with her grandchild. Her solitude is lightened. Her heart is softened. She believes that she has been given a second opportunity of simple love in life.

The grandchild also learns many things from grandma. They are taught how to be patient, caring, respectful and loving to the family. Grandma can be slow in talking, yet what she says can remain in the heart of the child throughout his life. She is blessed with her old age, not a curse. Her lines are part of her loveliness, not to be ashamed of. Old age ought not to be lived in fear but peacefully. It is not necessary that a woman spends the rest of her life fretting about the lines on her face. She ought to have fun with the individuals who adore her.
