Bruno was a shepherd dog who occupied a small farm on which he could see green fields all around him. Bruno would come and help the farmer, to take care of the sheep and do it on a daily basis. He was big, and rude and very quick. Everybody believed that he was a courageous man since sheepdogs are normally strong and courageous. There was, however, a secret of Bruno which was very funny. He was afraid of the sheep. In the mornings, every morning the farmer opened the gate and requested Bruno to shepherd the sheep over the field.
Sheepdog Fears The Sheep
Bruno hastened to get out of the path the moment he knew that they were approaching him. Whenever one of the sheep would stare at him in his face, he would get nervous and go behind the boots of the farmer. Nothing could have made the farmer cease to laugh at this queer dog. The sheep were not hazardous in any way. They were gentle and silent, as well as sleepy most of the time. Bruno pretended that they were big monstrous men. That when the sheep were in large groups they used to run away as quickly as they could. Now he even leaped once upon a hay bale so as to keep as far away as possible.

On one afternoon, the farmer attempted to make Bruno be a brave person. He slowly brought one little sheep close to him. The sheep wagged his tail and sniffed Bruno on the ear. Bruno came rolling in so much of a fright that he landed in a water-bucket behind the barn. The chickens were running in panic and water was splashing. The farmer laughs so hard that tears are brought to his eyes. The most joyful thing was that Bruno hardly had any other fear at the farm. He was not afraid of chasing the clamorous chickens.

He shouted at on-coming tractors. There was a time when he even scared a fox which was by the chicken coop. but when he noticed a little sheep, which was coming towards him, his legs were as jelly. Very very soon the sheep realized that the dog was scared of them. They began to follow him, then, as a joke, they all walked around the farm following him. Bruno went as far as he could go in the direction that the sheep had taken, and tried to find a place to hide. And at other times hid in flower pots.

In some cases, he would squeeze behind the fence yet he was too big. He, as soon as he entered in the cart of the farmer, and said to him, that he refused to get out of the cart within an hour. The sheep were standing on the grass they were chewing on with a worry full look in their eyes, with Bruno peeking at them with a worried expression. Along with the time flow, Bruno slowly became somewhat daring. He was taught not to run away right after being close to the sheep. Bruno did not make a perfect sheepdog but he made everyone in the farm to smile on a daily basis.
